Newest Sewing Projects

Despite all of the company over the holidays, Lisa got a chance to do some sewing for herself and to make a game for Wyatt for his birthday.  The purse was a project that caught her eye while shopping with Jennifer in Charlotte. It just looked too cool to not sew. As you'll see from the pictures, it turned out really well.

Lisa especially liked the long straps which let her hang it over her shoulder even with a heavy winter coat. Vera Bradley has nothing on her.

With Wyatt's third birthday fast approaching Lisa wanted to create something unique  and educational for a smart boy. She remembered how much our kids enjoyed games of concentration with decks of cards and felt that she could do it one better with scraps of fabric. Of course, she had to make a carrying case that no one would mistake for a girly purse and created it out of camouflage. As you'll see, it is first class and should provide hours of fun and learning.

15 matched sets backed by felt

The cool camo bag to carry all of them.

The bag itself is a work of art. It uses a trick aunt Kathy Donaldson taught her this past year...... a length of metal tape measure  imbedded in the fabric around the top to make the opening . It stays shut thanks to the natural tendency of the metal to "snap" closed. Pretty nifty.
